This policy explains what information thebiologybro.com collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. We keep it short and collect as little as we can.

1. Who we are

TheBiologyBro runs thebiologybro.com from Uttarakhand, India. For anything about your data, email contact@thebiologybro.com.

2. What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message when you write to us.
  • Comments: the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser details, which help us detect spam.
  • Server logs: IP address, browser type, internet provider, date and time, and the pages you visit and leave from. We use these to keep the site secure and running, and we do not use them to identify you.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see cookies and third parties below.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health or financial details. Please do not send it in the contact form.

3. Lab tools stay in your browser

Our calculators and sequence tools run entirely in your browser. The values and sequences you enter are not sent to us or stored by us.

4. How we use information

  • to answer your messages and questions;
  • to run, secure and improve the site, and to understand which pages are useful;
  • to show ads that help keep the site free;
  • to prevent spam, fraud and abuse;
  • to meet our legal obligations.

5. Cookies and third parties

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and the services below use them:

  • Google Analytics 4 measures how visitors use the site, using cookies and your IP address. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Google AdSense shows ads. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, which may include personalised ads. You can turn personalised ads off in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info.
  • Google reCAPTCHA protects the contact form from spam. It collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google. Its use is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, so your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address when pages load.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some features may not.

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider and the Google services listed above, under their own privacy terms;
  • authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

7. Other sites and apps

Our job board (lifesciencejobs.thebiologybro.com) and courses (courses.thebiologybro.com) have their own accounts and privacy policies. Our WhatsApp channels are run on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's privacy policy. Links to other websites are covered by those websites' policies.

8. How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: for as long as we need to answer you, and up to 24 months after that.
  • Comments: as long as the comment is published, so that follow-up comments can be approved automatically.
  • Analytics: under the retention settings of Google Analytics, at most 14 months.

9. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and, for visitors in the European Union, the GDPR, you can ask us to:
